Best Ezoic Alternatives for Publishers in 2024

Best Ezoic Alternatives for Publishers in 2024

As a publisher, it’s gratifying to receive approval from popular ad networks like Mediavine and Ezoic. I was in cloud nine when my website was accepted into the Ezoic program. However, due to various factors, I’ve started exploring Ezoic alternatives.

Reasons why that led me to Opt out from EZOIC

Few of the major issues that prompted me to look for Ezoic alternatives are these:

  • Origin Error: After switching from AdSense to EZOIC, the most common issue that I have faced is the Origin error. An origin error occurs when a system fails to retrieve data or content from its primary source. It’s like trying to order a book from a library but finding the library closed or the book missing.
  • 5xx Error: The other most common issue that I encountered frequently was “5XX” error. A 5xx error is a general category of HTTP status codes indicating a server-side problem. This means that something went wrong on the website’s or application’s server, preventing it from fulfilling your request. Due to server connectivity issue 80% of my web pages got deindexed and I lost nearly 90% of my earnings from Ezoic. Common 5xx error that you may encounter after integrating Ezoic nameserver in to your website are 500 internal server error, 502 Bad Gateway, 5.3 service unavailable, and 504 Gateway timeouts.
  • Speed: Ezoic has a special tool which is called Leap. They claim that this tool can help you to improve website’s speed and Core Web Vitals. However, I have not got benefitted using this tool. Neither my website’s speed increased nor improved the core web vitals.
  • User Experience: Expanded article ads and universal floating video player deteriorated the user experience. Due to this I disabled these ads format. Later on I came to know that these were the ads format that was impacting my website speed and core web vitals score. If you don’t know to disable ad format on Ezoic then you can read my already published post on how to turn off Ezoic Ads.
  • Mixed content error: The other issue that you can encounter while using EZOIC platform is mixed content error. This error happens due to the mixing of https and http pages. If you are facing this issue then try to redirect all the http to https immediately. Since my website is developed in WordPress so I used a plugin named Better Search Replace to fix this issue.
  • SSL conflict: EZOIC provides free SSL to publishers.  An SSL conflict typically arises when there’s a mismatch or inconsistency in SSL certificates, configurations, or services related to a website or application. Please pay close attention to this issue because nowadays all of the hosting providers provides free SSL certificate. Don’t forget to check whether you have activated SSL from EZOIC or from your hosting provider. If you don’t configure SSL properly then there is a chance of getting de-ranked in search engine.
  • No Technical support: For Level 1 publisher it’s very tough to raise tickets. So, if you face any problem then you have to rely on their community.

These were the issues that led me to remove my website from Ezoic, write an Ezoic review and search for Ezoic alternatives. During my research I have found some of the Ad Networks that are better than EZOIC. Lets see each of them one by one in detail .

Best Ezoic Alternatives That I can opt For

Adsterra

When I was doing a web search, I came to know about Adsterra. The company claim that their platform is best for the publishers who are planning to monetize their blog. So, based on their claim I will give a try and then I would be able to come to the point if it’s a better Ezoic alternatives or not.

They follow Cost-per-mille (CPM) and cost-per-action (CPA) models for calculating publisher’s revenue.

What is Cost-Per-Mille (CPM)

Cost Per Mille (CPM) is a pricing model used in digital advertising where advertisers pay a specific amount for every 1,000 impressions of their ad. “Mille” is Latin for “thousand.” That means When an ad is displayed on a website or app, it’s considered an impression. Advertisers pay a fixed amount for every 1,000 times their ad is shown.

Example: If a website charges $10 CPM, an advertiser will pay $10 for every 1,000 people who see their ad.

What is Cost-Per-Action (CPA)

Cost Per Action (CPA) is a pricing model where advertisers pay a specific amount each time a desired action is taken after clicking on their ad. That means advertisers only pay when a user performs a specific action, such as making a purchase, filling out a form, or signing up for a newsletter.

Example: If a company offers a $5 CPA for a product purchase, they will pay $5 every time someone buys the product after clicking on their ad.

Their minimum pay-out is $5 and they transfer money via wire transfer, Paypal, and Paxum. If their According to me if their claims are genuine then Adsterra may become the best adnetworks for small publishers.

AdMaven

Other Ad network that has caught my eyeballs is AdMaven. They claim that they are the leading Ad Network in the ecosystem.

Reasons why this ad network may become the best fit for small publisher are:

  • Site gets approval instantly, even if you have a less visitors.
  • They pay high CPM rates.
  • They have worldwide Ad coverage.
  • They only show ads from companies that meet their high standards.
  • They claim that we can choose when we want to be paid, how we want to be paid (like with a bank account or a credit card), and we don’t need to wait to earn a lot of money before you can get paid. Their minimum Payment threshold is $50 however for wire transfer minimum requirement is $1000 Minimum Payment threshold is $50 however for wire transfer minimum requirement is $1000
  • They say that you can get help from a real person at any time of the day or night, and they quickly approve your account no matter how you contact us.

Third on my list is Google AdSense.  Reasons for opting for Google AdSense are because it is very popular and widely used platform. It was launched in the year 2003, initially it was know as Content Targeting Advertising.

Reasons to Choose Google AdSense

  • Easy to use and Setup: Getting started with AdSense is very easy.
  • User friendly Interface: The platform is designed to be easy to navigate and understand.
  • Ad Variety: AdSense offers a range of ad formats (text, image, video, etc.) to suit different website layouts.
  • Consistent Payouts: AdSense has a reputation for timely and reliable payments to publishers.
  • Extensive Support: Google provides ample documentation and support to assist publishers. In addition, AdSense offers tools to help you diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Strong Ad Targeting: Google’s advanced algorithms help deliver ads that are relevant to your website’s content.

Note: It’s important to note that while Google AdSense is a popular choice, it might not be the best option for every publisher. Factors like website niche, traffic volume, and specific monetization goals should be considered when selecting an ad network.

Reasons Not to Choose Google AdSense

Since Google AdSense is very popular platform to monetize blog. Yet it comes with few drawbacks. Let’s check those one by one.

  • It has low CPM rates as compared to Adsterra, AdMaven, Ezoic, and Mediavine.
  • AdSense approval typically takes 2 to 3 weeks. If your site is disapproved, you can reapply after making the necessary improvements based on Google AdSense’s guidelines.

Conclusion

So finally, according to me these three are the best Ezoic alternatives. Since one of my blog is already monetized using Google AdSense. So finally, I will by experimenting with AdSetrra and AdMaven.
